are also there.)įor older versions, the directory is \Program Files\SqueezeCenter\.įor other (Linux/Mac,) the folder will still be under SqueezeCenter somewhere. It goes in the same folder (alac.exe, flac.exe, and etc. In winders, LAME.EXE goes in \Program Files\Squeezebox\server\bin\MSWin. No hiccups in playback because the link can support the speed needed. So, if you have LAME installed, you can change the player settings to limit the bitrate to that player (at that time) and SBS/LAME will convert your lossless files to MP3 at the designated speed before streaming it to the the device. The other Lame I got, 398.2 is a file with several folders that I have no idea where to put in.My answer(s) relate to SBS, not iTunes. How can I get to install either of the Lame versions I downloaded then? The iTunes Lame says it should go in ~/Library/iTunes/Scripts, but I don't have that folder anywhere in my system. So if I have Lame installed my lossless files would decrease quality but could be played faster and without hiccups on my SB?
